First, let me say that I really must apologize for not posting for a while. There has really been a lot going on down here. There was someone very close to my family that died. Then I got sick. Then I had an allergic reaction to some medication. It has just been one thing after another here.

The death hit us pretty hard. The kid was 16. Hope grew up with his parents and Paige with him. Even I have felt closer to the young man's father than I have to some people for a while. I know we really only talked about cars, but, I have talked to him quite a bit more the past couple of years as we have been getting our car situation straightened out. Plus, we are brothers in Christ. Our hearts have been with this family. It has been hard. I know we will miss the young man, but, I also know we will see him again some day.

And then I have been sick. Nothing too serious. Just a bug.

Now, back to business. Did anyone happen to see Barrack Obama's press conference yesterday? I mean, who in this great land actually believes that Barrack Obama finally, after 20 yrs, had an epiphany that his pastor was a hate filled, America hating man? I think Rush Limbaugh said it best; it would be like Hillary Clinton saying that she was divorcing Bill because she finally realized that he had been cheating on her all these years. To think that you could sit in a church week after week and not believe in what was being preached. I mean, we are thinking about changing churches because my 9 y/o's Sunday School teacher gave her the impression that she had the wrong Bible. I don't buy it. I truly feel that he didn't say anything at first, eve went as far as saying that everyone should stick to the issues, because he felt that it would go away. And now that this hasn't gone away, and we really don't know who this man is, we are getting a look into his acquaintances. The people that have formed him into the man he is today. This IS one of the major issues on this campaign. We know McCain. He has been in the Senate for years. Plus, he has run for President before. Clinton, we know. We had 8yrs of her as First Lady (which, by the way, in no way qualifies her to run this country) and now for the past 8 yrs as a Senator. What Obama fails to understand, is that who he is is extremely important.

Anyway, these are just a few of my thoughts after his remarks yesterday.

Well, I know it has been a little while since I posted, and I apologize for that. It's just that a lot of things have been going on here on The Edge. Those of you who read my wife's post know what I am talking about.

Now, I could not pass this opportunity up. Especially since the last Democratic Debate before the Pennsylvania Primary took place last night. And, the two candidates actually got asked some good questions. I was surprized by that. It seemed as if they were actually being held to the fire for things that have happened and people that they have known in the past.

Nevermind the fact that both candidates want to turn this country into a socialist republic. They both think that the Common American is beneath them and has no idea what is best for themselves or this country. Obama made that very clear last week when he thought that no one would find out. The comments he made about bitter Americans was not supposed to be heard by everyone's ears. And Hillary lost touch a long time ago.

Well, guess what? That is not what our founding fathers wanted for this country. They wanted everyone to be able to have a say in what this government does and how it effects them. They also wanted us to be able to have the things that we wanted and to live life on our terms, not the terms dictated by the government.

The Democrats want to raise our taxes and limit what we can do. They want us to drive the kinds of cars they tell us to and eat only what they tell us we can. What ever happened to being able to decide for ourselves what was best?

Do we really want a government to dictate what we can and can't do, eat or drive? Isn't that why we left Europe to begin with?

A Break from Politics

Folks, I have to take a break for a minute and say something.

You see, a lot has been going on down here. There have been many sleepless nights as we are having to make some pretty major changes in our lives. Well, in the midst of all that is going on, I made a decision to save some money in the long run and make one pay out so I would not have to pay the monthly fee anymore.

The problem is this, I have spent the majority of my adult life not discussing Navy stuff at home that it is ingrained that I really don't discuss things at home. This is changing, slowly. TOO SLOWLY. I know that I have a wonderful wife at home with whom I can discuss things. But, sometimes, I act before I discuss, and then, worse, I forget to discuss. This is a bad habit that I am trying to break. I think I am making progress and then I do something stupid and undo all the progress that I made. Although the time is getting longer and longer between incidents, it just isn't fair to my lovely wife that it still happens at all.

Now, I know that she is tired of hearing me apologize for these things, so, I will just ask her to still remain patient with me. I love you and would never do anything to put you or our kids in danger or in a position where I would not be able to provide your needs.

The Silly "H" Word

For those of you who are paying any sort of attention, the "H" word is Hussein. Now the reason I call it the silly little "H" word is that it happens to be the middle name for one Barack Obama. This has caused some controversy as he has said that he doesn't like to use his middle name. So, the media doesn't use it.

It has gotten so bad that Sen. McCain has even apologized, over and over again, that someone on his campaign has used it. It is the man's name. Why should someone have to apologize for calling someone else by his/her name? I just don't get it.

There are plenty of other reasons not to like Obama. Like, his ideas about government, taxes, and how he wants to take money from the people who work hard to earn it, and give it to people who don't want to get off their lazy hind quarters and work for themselves. How this man, or any liberal as far as that goes, can be so popular is beyond me.

So, let's get over his middle name. Forget about the fact that he is the first black man to even have a chance at being president. I have no problem with his race, his name, or even him as a human being. I have never met the man. What I have a problem with is what he apparently believes in. And, I don't feel he has adequately responded regarding relationships he has, and had.

If he gets elected, I am afraid that it will be mainly because of his race. That in and of itself scares me. I also don't like where it appears he will take this country.

If you have read my wife's blog today, you know that my "Little Man" turned 4 years old yesterday.

I want to thank everyone that came over last night and made his day so special. Now we have more Power Rangers than we know what to do with. I think there cool and all, and the boy loves them. So, thank you to all of you.

Like my wife said, yesterday was so busy and crazy that I had to do this a day late. But, it did give me the chance to say thank you to everyone.
