What does this tell you?

I just got done reading a story in the Minneapolis Star Tribune that said that the ACLU is predicting that 800 people will be arrested during the week of the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul. They even have 75 lawyers standing by to defend these people. These people that they are expecting to be arrested will be protestors during the convention and they are basing this prediction off of the fact that 600 people were arrested in Philadelphia in 2000, and 1800 in New York in 2004.

So, my question is this. If these people are participating in peaceful protests, why are they being arrested? Because, you know the ACLU will be saying that it is the right of these people to protest. I haven't read any stories about how many people will be arrested in Denver during the Democratic National Convention. Even if conservative people were to protest in Denver, I doubt that too many of them will be doing anything to get arrested.

I am getting sick and tired of the ACLU. I think that the basis of protecting peoples rights is good, but, they have gone so far out of the realm that they are trying to dictate what the laws should be. If someone decides to protest that's fine. But, if they do something that would cause the police to arrest them, so be it.

The ACLU should be there for everyone. They have gotten so far left that I doubt they even remember what their right hands look like.
