No Bounds

It seems that the Democrats know no bounds when it comes to money, or hypocrisy for that matter. Reason also seems to be thrown out the window.

It seems that our wonderful lawmakers in Washington now have an extra $93,000 in each of their petty cash funds. Yes, while they are planning on spending close to a TRILLION dollars on liberal agenda pet projects that have no real hope of ever "stimulating" the economy, they are also mad at Wall Street executives for paying out bonuses they are busy giving themselves more money to spend. This will be over $46,000,000. Now, I know this is chump change when we compare it to the Billions of dollars that they want to spend else where, but, $93,000 is more money than most of us make in a year. These people just gave themselves this for a petty cash fund. When you are trying to lecture other people on how they are being wasteful in spending their money, you should watch what you are doing in your own house.

Top this with the fact that the King Liberal wants to spend all this money on such projects as STD prevention, welfare, and family planning (because supporting the use of contraception lowers costs, therefore, will stimulate the economy (thanks Nancy Pelosi for that insight)), bees, and fish, but then he turns around and tells the DoD (that's Department of Defense) that they have to cut their budget by 10%? This man has told us exactly what he wants to do to our country.

The one thing he did lie about was defending the Constitution. This document does not say that the government is to provide for the general welfare, it says that the government is to promote the general welfare. The only thing this document says the government is to provide is for the common defense. So, how can anyone in Congress justify spending so much money on welfare and then telling the military that they have to cut their budget? That is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!

To top all of it off, he is asking a Republican to be the Secretary of Commerce. Now, this would not be a bad thing, except........The Senator is from Vermont. Vermont has a Democratic governor. The governor gets to appoint a replacement. Now, if he appoints a Democrat as the replacement senator, and Al Franken wins the lawsuit that will determine who won the election in Minnesota (yes, that is still going on). Right now, the Secretary in charge of the recount has declared Franken the winner, but, there are so many holes and questions in the whole process, there is no telling what the court is going to do. Anyway, back to the point I was trying to make, if this happens, then the Democrats will have 60 members in the Senate. This would give them a filibuster proof Senate. There will be NOTHING that can be done to stop the Democrats from sending this country down the socialist path they seem bent on pursuing. Now, if you think that this is just Obama trying to reach across party lines, you are wrong. It has nothing to do with that and everything with trying to keep the Republicans from being able to stop them and their socialist agenda.

Add to all of this that two of the people that he has nominated to his cabinet seem to have had a problem paying their taxes. That's right, the patriotic thing to do according to Joe Biden. One of these men is now the head of the IRS. How ironic is that? There were actually some Republicans that voted to confirm him. Now Tom Daschle, who the President has nominated for Secretary of Health and Human Services has had to pay over $100,000 in taxes that he failed to pay when he was supposed to.

Now, I don't know how it could be any more obvious that this President does not have the best interest of this country in mind. All he has in mind is a socialist agenda that, if not kept in check, will throw the Constitution right out the window and drive my beloved United States of America right down the drain with it.

Hypocricy at it's finest

Sorry to be so long between posts, but, rather than just getting information from other blogs and the like, I went straight to the source. I actually read the Bill that the House of Representatives passed two days ago. You know, the one that President Obama (shudder) is trying to shove down everyone's throat. It is 647 pages long, and, if you know me, it takes me a while to read.

So, on with the post.

This morning, I heard on the news, our new President chasitzing Wall Street for paying bonuses. Again, not that I think he is wrong. These people are paying very large sums of money as bonuses when they are taking money from the government supposedly just to keep running. I don't think that that is a good thing.

Now, in the same breath, he is backing (actually shoving) this "Economic Stimulus" bill through Congress. The price of this one piece of legislation (face value) is in the neighborhood of $850,000,000,000. By the time the government pays all the interest it will be well over $1TRILLION. Now, admittedly, there are some tax cuts in there (that's how they tried to get the Republicans to vote for it), but, for the most part, this is the biggest government SPENDING bill in history. They have $200Million just for the National Mall, of which, $20Million will be spent just on sod. What does that have to do with the economy? Or the Millions of dollars that Nancy Pelosi wanted to spend to support contraception. She said it was because it would lower costs. Imagine that, if we don't produce as many babies, then costs would go down. And they say that trying to teach abstinance is archaic.

There was so much garbage in this bill, that I can't even begin to list all of them. But, I know that NASA is getting some of the money for "Global Warming Research", and, NOAA is getting a bunch for some habitat restructuring or something like that. It is just downright ludicrous.

The President said, just the other day, that the government wasn't going to be able to get us out of this recession. That it was up to the individual industries and the working people to pull us out. That was on 28JAN. Contrast that with his comments on 8JAN: It is up to the government to take action to stop the recession and to restore the economic system and we must act now. (I have paraphrased each of these). So, which is it? He made the comments of 28JAN just after speaking with House Republicans about this bill. I know it was to try and show that he was reaching across the party lines. But, that is what should have happened before a bill was before Congress. It should have been an idea born from the efforts of both parties. Not the efforts of one party with a couple of ideas from the other party thrown in for good measure.

I like what Mr. Bartlett told the President during their conference .

Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md.: "Mr. President, I probably come at this from a slightly different perspective. I remember when FDR beat Hoover in 1932. So I remember the Great Depression very well. I don't remember any of the many government programs affecting the course of the Depression. Government programs didn't work then, I don't know why we think they would work now. Mr. President, I think our obsessive borrowing has fully mortgaged my kids and my grandkids. Now we're working on mortgaging my two great-grandkids. Mr. President, I think it's more than a little bit selfish to try to solve our economic problems which we created by burdening future generations yet to be born."

All of this on top of the President promising to end "Pork Barrel Spending". This bill has more pork than a stuffed pig.

It should say something to the Ruling Party when this vote was taken, NOT ONE Republican voted for this bill. Actually, even eleven Democrats voted against it.

Now we'll see what happens in the Senate.

History Made

I have been sitting here trying to figure out what I want to say about today. I was trying to figure out how to be politically correct since he is the Commander in Chief. It is a historical day.

Screw it. I am watching Jeff Dunham right now, and one of his dummies said that being politically correct was a pain in the ass. (please forgive the slip)

This man had the audacity to sit up there and blame PRESIDENT George W. Bush for everything that is wrong today. Believe me, it started going wrong a long time before George Walker Bush took his oath. Now, I don't agree with everything Bush tried to do (what we need to do with illegal immigrants is just one), but, he certainly doesn't deserve the crap that the Democrats and their media has been dishing out over the past two years.

The Democrats in Congress all voted to go into Iraq, and then criticized every single move that was made. They voted in favor of a troop surge, and then, before the troops even hit the sand, went out and said that this war was lost. This was treason. Now Obama announces that we are going to start to pull our troops out. Well, guess what. Bush has already started.

He also said something that really got into my craw. He said that he was going to go through the government programs and look at each one individually and ask if this program does anything to provide jobs or better the lives of the American people. The Constitution says that the federal government is to "promote the general welfare". No where does it say that the government is to provide for these things. The only thing the government is to provide for is the common defense. He doesn't care how big the federal government gets. He even said so. The democrats are doing everything in their power to infringe on the very freedoms that the men and women, both past and present, have fought and are fighting to preserve.

He used THE bible that Lincoln used for his oath. He tried to make his speech as memorable as Kennedy or Martin Luther King. Alas, the only democrat in this group of men is Kennedy. That should say something. Lincoln was the first Republican President. And, most people don't know this, but Martin Luther King was a Republican as well. So why is it that the majority of the black people in this country vote Democrat?

It was a Historical day.

You have heard of the Teflon Don, I am sure. If you haven't, his name was John Gotti. He was the man in charge of the Gambino mafia family in New York. It didn't matter what the authorities did, they could not get to this man. Well, they finally did, and the only way they were able to finally get to him was to get one of his people to turn on him.

Flash to Barack Obama. The media has been having a love affair with him. He can do no wrong in their eyes. The Senate isn't much better. ANY OF THEM!!! I remember when Condoleeza Rice was first appointed to the office of Secretary of State. The Senate grilled her like there was no tomorrow. Now, they are letting Hillary Clinton off the hook. I understand the Democrats doing it, they are her colleagues. But, the Republicans have totally lost their minds. The confirmation hearing was nothing more than everyone patting everyone else on the back.

The man that he has appointed to run the Treasury owed approximately $30,000 in taxes since 2001 up until about a week and half ago. The Treasury Secretary is in charge of the IRS and is supposed to collect the taxes. But, the Senate says that he is still on track to being confirmed.

I am a little ashamed to say it, but, about the only person that was asked to be a part of the upcoming administration that I have any respect for is Bill Richardson. He had the integrity to step aside when something came up that would have even given the idea of impropriety.

This man has promised change, then he has gone and surrounded himself with a bunch of people who have been in Washington for years, and even came out and blatantly told the American people that we can expect to have a trillion dollar deficit for the next few years.

We, as Americans, need to take back America. Our country is going down the tubes and there isn't anyone in Washington or the media who is trying to stop it. In fact, the majority of the media are encouraging it. The Republicans that we have in office are rolling over.

Hold on tight.....the Democrats are going to get exactly what they want and then, because they may have had to reword something or another, complain that they can't get anything that they want. This has been their mantra for many years. Make the American people afraid of the Republicans. Make the American people afraid of some crises and then shove their socialist agenda down our throats.

As I have said before, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

I'm Back........

I apologize to those of you who had begun to read my blog on a regular basis. My lack of posting was a combination of a few things. The Christmas Holiday, Calculus, and wanting to give the incoming administration a chance to prove that they might actually do something worthwhile. Well, no more. I have been biting my tongue long enough!

First of all, let's look at the administration Obama is appointing. The majority of these people are from Illinois, New York, or California. And, the majority of the people he is asking to be a part of his administration served under the Clinton administration. Funny, I thought he was running on "change". If you surround yourself with the very people that have been in Washington, then you are not changing anything. As far as California and New York go, these two states have two of the worst economies of any of the states in this union. Michigan is pretty low too. But, New York is about bankrupt and California isn't much better off. As a matter of fact, California was asking for Federal assistance not too long ago. New York just passed a bunch of new taxes in the form of fees. Now, if these people can't run their own states, why should we think that they can run the Federal Government?

The next thing I want to point out is that the person he has asked to be the Czar of Global Warming is a known socialist. She was listed on socialist organization's web site as one of their leaders. Since she was appointed by Obama, her name has been removed. However, a picture reportedly still remains.

Now, let's talk about the promises he has made. He promised to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Since he was elected he has stated that his tax cuts might have to wait. He also made America believe that as soon as he took office he would bring the troops out of Iraq. Now, he has said that some of the troops will remain. This is the same man that promised to take public funds for his campaign and then denied it. He knew that he could raise more money without it.

He has now promised that the deficit will be over $1 Trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) for some time. Where is the responsibility? This makes absolutely no sense. Our Congress has already approved over $1 Trillion in bail outs. Now Obama wants to ask for $800 Billion more. When will it end?
