"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

If this looks, or sounds familiar, it is because it is the First Amendment to the Constitution. The very first of the Bill of Rights. Why did I start out with this? Read on.

It seems that among all of the other stuff going on, a story from San Diego County missed the national spotlight.

A pastor and his wife were required to get a permit to hold a Bible Study in their home.

It seems that on April 10 (Good Friday), a county code enforcement officer visited the home of David and Mary Jones after receiving a complaint about their Christian gatherings. The Jones' attorney, Dean Broyles, president of The Western Center for Law & Policy, conveyed in disbelief, "The county asked (Mrs. Jones), 'Do you have a regular meeting in your home?' She said, 'Yes.' 'Do you say "amen"?' 'Yes.' 'Do you pray?' 'Yes.' 'Do you say "praise the Lord"?' 'Yes.'"

The officer then warned the family to "cease and desist" the "religious gathering" or they would face weekly fines. A few days later, the county delivered a citation claiming that the Joneses were guilty of "unlawful use of land" and mandating them to "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit."

Now, this wasn't a huge group of people. It only averaged about 15 people. This is nothing more than an attack on our First Amendment rights. Both the right to freely exercise our choice of religion as well as our right to peaceably assemble (and the peaceable assembly part is intended for public places). Not to mention, that someone who had done NOTHING WRONG had their privacy invaded.

Now, our beloved king liberal has gone overseas and made a speech in Cairo that the White House says is designed to bridge the gap between the Muslim world and the United States. But, I believe that he is doing nothing but showing weakness. Just as he has done in World Policy since he took his oath of office. He has shown great resolve in turning our extremely strong republic into a very weak socialist country.

Just read for yourselves. I am only giving you the first six paragraphs of this article, but, the point is made very well. By the way, this article was in Pravda. That's right, the Russian newspaper.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

Now, the saying goes if we can't learn from the mistakes of the past, we are destined to repeat them. We have been going down the path to socialism for quite a while. The introduction of "nationalized medicine" is just another cog in the wheel. A man in Parliament in Great Britain has even warned us to learn from them. He says they are about 10yrs ahead of us in regard to socialized medicine.

The king liberal even had a line in his speech today that went something like this, "a world organization that places a group of people above another group of people is destined to fail." Now, he has spent a great deal of time apologizing for our past. The very past that has made us the WORLD'S ONLY SUPER POWER. The very past that has rescued Europe from the tyranny of dictators more than once. The very past that has supported those whose sole desire is to have an inkling of the freedoms that we enjoy (and, for the most part, take for granted).

Have we made mistakes? Sure. But, honestly, WHAT IN THE WORLD DO WE HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR? We have worked hard and sacrificed a great deal to have the place we have in the world today. It wasn't because we were entitled to it. It was because we EARNED it.

The pastor and his wife were just the beginning. We have taken our freedoms for granted far too long. If this man has his way, we will all be the same. No matter how hard we work. Those who work hard to make something will be no better off than those who sit around on their lazy hind ends. The people who work hard will give up everything they have so that those who don't will have. We SHOULD have social envy. But, only in the regards that it should be a driving force for people to work hard to get the things they want. People who make money are not evil. They are not the enemy. They should be the example of what everyone can do if they put their mind to it.

Thank you, Fred.
From the bottom of my heart!
I will be sending a link to this blog post to everyone on my email list. And I will link to it in my blog. I'm sure you have tons more readers than I do, but every additional one, who reads with an open mind, will have to be concerned.
I live in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood. They meet on a regular basis to pray in each other's homes. Just last weekend we were sitting on our front porch and counted 24 men leaving our neighbor's house! They had met to pray.
Dangerous? I think not.
Infidels? I'm sure not.
Wrong? Abso-freakin'-lutely not.
This is America. The whole premise of our existence is freedom. Remember the phrase "freedom of religion?"
I do.
"Freedom of assembly?"
Everyone's so concerned with their right to privacy, so concerned that without specific permission, in writing, the doctor can't tell me what's wrong (or right) with my husband! So concerned that even though I have his birthday, SS#, address, and password, I can't discuss his credit card, even to pay it (!!!) unless he specifically tells them I have permission to do so. (I remember the days when I could do anything like that, order cable, phones, rent an apartment for my friend Dave, who wasn't even my husband!!!)
And now these people can't meet in their own home to pray????
I'm sick to my stomach over this story.
